Enough polar bear talk... let's dive into some good news happening around the world!

Quote of the Day 🗣
"Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down."

Liam Reigel, a 12-year-old from Eldersburg, Maryland, who has been battling brain cancer, had a dream come true when he got to spend 48 hours with his favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic, Reigel was able to join the Capitals during their practice, where he got to skate with the team, work on his penalty shots, and meet his favorite player, Lars Eller.
What a joy it was to have Liam from @WishMidAtlantic at practice today!
Liam, diagnosed with a brain tumor at 12 years old, got to meet his favorite player Lars Eller and then joined the team on the ice. He'll be at tomorrow's game as well. ❤️

The following day, Reigel had the honor of reading the starting lineup to the team before their game against the Detroit Red Wings, and he also joined them on the bench for warmups. The experience more than exceeded Reigel's expectations, and he described it as a dream come true.
“Just to skate with the guys I've been watching for six years, just to skate with them, kinda get to know them, shoot on a goalie—it was great," Reigel told WUSA9.

High School Cheerleader Competes Alone and Wins Hearts at State Championship 📣

via Donna Wiedeburg
At the Nebraska State High School Cheer & Dance Championship in Grand Island, a remarkable moment took place when Katrina Kohel, a cheerleader from Morrill High School, competed alone. Two weeks before the competition, her coach April Ott had told her that she was the only member left on the cheer squad after three girls quit for personal reasons. Ott suggested that they could still go and enjoy the experience, but Kohel decided to compete by herself.
Despite being the first cheerleader to compete alone at the state championship, Kohel's performance earned her the support of a cheering crowd. Her section was full of competitors from other teams, and the whole arena became part of "Team Katrina." She stated that "Everybody was cheering with me, and it was an amazing feeling."
