Quote of the Day 🗣
"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."

8-Year-Old Raises $66,000 for Waffle House Waiter 🧇

Gardner is a dedicated Waffle House waiter who has two young daughters and a wife, and he used to walk or get a ride to work every day due to his family’s living situation. When Kayzen Hunter, an 8-year-old regular customer, found out that Gardner was in a dire living situation, he started a GoFundMe campaign so that he could potentially get a car. The initial goal was to raise $500 for Gardner, but the campaign attracted more attention and ultimately raised over $66,000.
Kayzen’s family got to know Gardner better over time and learned that his former apartment had been riddled with issues. Gardner and his family had been living in a motel for 8 months. Kayzen's family and the supporters of the GoFundMe campaign were able to raise enough money to help Gardner find a new apartment and purchase a family sedan. Gardner says that he will be moving into his apartment soon and that his family will have something more stable.

Grandson Recreates Grandma's 1955 London Photos

via BBC
Philip Loveday recreated images of London that his grandma took in 1955 at the age of 16. As a gift to his grandmother Scilla, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he embarked on a year-long photo spree into the city center and took the same pictures his grandmother did. He added his images side-by-side into her photo album.
My 16 year-old has been going round London trying to capture exactly the same photos my mum took on a photography project she did when she was 16, in 1955. Didn’t quite get it done in time for her Christmas present but we’re nearly there now. Here’s a little taster:

Scilla, who is now 83, was just 16 when she traveled to Central London with her camera in 1955 as a passion project and created a photo album with handwritten notes to remind her of the fond memories. The family hopes to turn this photo album into a book.
