Quote of the Day 🗣

"Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible—it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could."

Daughter's Secret Donation Saves Father's Life ❤️

Delayne Ivanowski had been keeping a secret plan to donate a kidney to her father, John Ivanowski, who was diagnosed with a form of kidney disease known as Immunoglobulin A deficiency 2 years ago. John had repeatedly told Delayne that he did not want her to donate a kidney to him, but after tests revealed that John was in kidney failure, Delayne moved forward with her secret plan to donate a kidney to her father.

She kept her plans a secret for 9 months as she went through the necessary procedures ahead of becoming a donor. Workers at Washington University & Barnes-Jewish Transplant Center did everything they could to keep Delayne's donation a secret as she and her father underwent surgeries. The next day, Delayne surprised her father with the big news by walking into his recovery room while still in her gown and attached to an IV.

Eli Lilly Caps Insulin Cost at $35/month, Prompting Others to Follow Suit 🏥

Eli Lilly has announced that it will cap the monthly out-of-pocket cost of its insulin at $35. The move could lead other insulin makers in the U.S. to follow suit. Eli Lilly's decision comes amid continued pressure from members of Congress and advocacy groups to lower the cost of the life-saving medication, which is notoriously high in the U.S. compared to other countries.

The $35 out-of-pocket cost will save people in the US $63.70 per vial of insulin on average, with the current average price estimated to be $98.70. The new cap will apply to people with private insurance and those without insurance who sign up for Eli Lilly's copay assistance program.

Achieving a high-performing, healthy, and wealthy life isn’t as far as it might seem! 😁

The Curiosity Chronicle is a once-per-week email newsletter written by investor, entrepreneur, and writer, Sahil Bloom. It’s perfecct for anyone interested in personal development, growth, productivity, and wealth creation. The Curiosity Chronicle is focused on providing actionable, tactical insights that readers can immediately implement to improve their lives.

One of our favorite editions is “Life Lessons from 1,000 Years,” in which Sahil decided to explore the wisdom that time has to offer by asking several individuals in their 90s a simple question: "If you could speak to your 32-year-old self, what advice would you give?" The responses include pieces of life advice everyone needs to hear, such as enjoying the finer things in life, dancing proudly, telling your partner you love them every night, and treating your body like a house you have to live in for another 70 years.
