Refugee Finally Reunited with Dog
A refugee gets reunited with her dog after a year-long separation, John Cena breaks the Make-A-Wish record, and more.
Hapi Humpday! This week is flying by and we hope it’s been a good one so far!
On this day in history, in 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson delivered a historic speech to Congress calling for equal voting rights for all Americans, regardless of race. It’s pretty incredible to think about how much progress has been made in the past 60 years!
Anyway, let's dive into some good news!

Quote of the Day 🗣
"Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible—it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could."

An Afghan refugee, Freshta Siddiqui, was finally reunited with her dog, Lucky, at the Peace Arch border crossing in Surrey after being separated for over a year. Lucky had been sent on a plane with other pets from Kabul to Vancouver by the Society for the Prevention and Cruelty of Animals International. He then stayed with various foster families before finally reuniting with Siddiqui this weekend. Lucky's separation anxiety, trauma, and love for opening doors made it challenging to find a foster home for him.
Siddiqui and Lucky had a special bond, with her rescuing him from children throwing stones at him in Kabul. Lucky returned the favor by barking when strangers entered their home in September 2021, warning Siddiqui of an attack by the Taliban. Siddiqui is overjoyed to have Lucky back, saying, "Lucky means family to me. Lucky means a part of my heart that was gone and now, I've got him."
