Meet the World's Longest Surviving Open Heart Surgery Patient 🫀

via Guinness World Records
Jim Ward from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, holds the record as the longest surviving open heart surgery patient (male), having lived for 70 years and 255 days since his operation at the age of 11 in 1952. Born with a constricted pulmonary heart valve due to a congenital heart defect, Ward underwent the complex surgery and returned to school just two months later.
Despite having a pacemaker installed in 2008 and taking blood pressure medication for over 20 years, Ward maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys walking, hiking, biking, and swimming. Encouraging others with heart conditions, he advises them to keep their minds and bodies active and enjoy life. The inspiring story of Ward's resilience and longevity highlights the importance of perseverance and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of adversity.

Taxi Driver’s Pet Crow 🐦

via Abbie Cashman / TikTok
An Irish woman's day took a surprising turn for the better when she found herself feeding her taxi driver's crow friend during her ride home from work. Abbie Cashman had experienced a series of misfortunes, including a flat tire and difficulty finding a taxi, before finally booking a ride through a ride-share app. Initially noticing the crow perched on the cab's side mirror, Cashman was amazed when it flew beside the taxi during the ride. The driver, who had a habit of offering treats to his passengers, provided a biscuit for Cashman to feed the crow.
