Danielle MacDuff saw Brian Bannister, a homeless man, reading a book on the street and struck up a conversation with him. She invited him to work on her farm the next day, and Bannister accepted. He had been living in a shed and had given up on life after surviving abuse, overcoming addiction, and losing two wives. Since offering Bannister work, MacDuff has involved the community in helping raise money for him to have food, clothes, and a hotel room to sleep in.

Every day, Bannister, MacDuff, and other staff members clean stalls, haul hay, and care for 200 animals, including cows, goats, horses, and dogs. They work morning and afternoon shifts and take a rest in the middle of the day. MacDuff drives Bannister back and forth to town and has got him his first haircut in two years, a phone, and access to some provincial financial support. The pair is enjoying their newfound friendship, and Bannister says he cannot believe that anyone would care for him this much.

The Intersection Between Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy 😀

The Curiosity Chronicle is a once-per-week email newsletter written by investor, entrepreneur, and writer, Sahil Bloom. It’s perfecct for anyone interested in personal development, growth, productivity, and wealth creation. The Curiosity Chronicle is focused on providing actionable, tactical insights that readers can immediately implement to improve their lives.
One of our favorite editions is “Life Lessons from 1,000 Years,” in which Sahil decided to explore the wisdom that time has to offer by asking several individuals in their 90s a simple question: "If you could speak to your 32-year-old self, what advice would you give?" The responses include pieces of life advice everyone needs to hear, such as enjoying the finer things in life, dancing proudly, telling your partner you love them every night, and treating your body like a house you have to live in for another 70 years.
