Police Help Pregnant DoorDasher Complete Delivery After Car Crash 👮♂️

via Sterling Heights Police Department
Bryanna Fantozzi, who is six months pregnant, was on her way to make a DoorDash delivery and grocery drop-off when she and her young daughter got into a wreck amid icy road conditions. Her Ford Fusion was no longer drivable due to the accident, and she had to complete her delivery.
Lieutenant David Allen helped Fantozzi complete her delivery, and his partner assisted him in grabbing the groceries along with an order from Texas Roadhouse before returning to their cruiser to make the delivery on behalf of Fantozzi. Allen said that he helped Fantozzi because it was clear that completing the deliveries was important to her.

Homeless Man Spends His Nights Helping Other Homeless People ❤️

via Travis Reddaway / CBC
Ernest McPherson, a 54-year-old homeless man from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, received the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal for his public service in helping the homeless. McPherson is known for his night patrols in the city, looking for people who may have fallen asleep in the cold, and providing them with warm clothing or a brief respite from the cold.
His story has helped spur community action, with a new homeless coalition making progress on setting up a 25-bed emergency homeless shelter to be operational for next winter. A local Ford auto dealership owner leased an old church hall to the coalition for $1 and donated $20,000 cash, while other community members are contributing what they can. The coalition has received a major grant from the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan to start a transitional housing program and plans to hire a project manager in the next couple of months.
