Skier's GoPro Captures Heroic Save on Mt. Baker 🏔

via Francis Zuber on YouTube

A dramatic video captured by skier Francis Zuber's GoPro camera shows him saving snowboarder Ian Steger, who became trapped underneath a pile of snow while riding on Mt. Baker in northern Washington. Zuber noticed a flash of color and quickly realized Steger had fallen into the snow after the snow around a pine tree collapsed, drawing him in head-first.

Steger managed to clear a small airway and cover his face with his jacket to breathe without inhaling snow, a move that likely saved his life. The footage shows Zuber working frantically to clear enough snow for Steger to breathe, a heroic act driven by adrenaline.

As ski season is coming to a close, it’s important to remember to always have a buddy on the slopes!

Paralyzed Dog Rescued from Philadelphia Train Tracks

Lucky, a paralyzed pit bull mix abandoned on train tracks in Philadelphia, has found a loving family after being adopted by one of his rescuers. Initially left for dead, Lucky's spinal cord was believed to have been severed by a passing train. Philly Rescue Angels, a nonprofit that cares for abandoned animals, took him in and shared his story online. Recently, they posted an update that Lucky has now been adopted and is living happily with his new family.

Despite being paralyzed and incurring $18,000 in vet bills, Lucky's new family is supported financially by Philly Rescue Angels, who cover the dog's medical care and other expenses. Lucky's journey to recovery and happiness has been challenging but rewarding, with the rescue group hoping that the person who abandoned him can see that he has overcome the ordeal and now lives a beautiful life.
