Tyler Perry Donates $2.75 Million to Help Low-Income Homeowners 🏠

Acclaimed actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry has pledged to donate $2.75 million to assist older homeowners in Atlanta. Perry reached out to Atlanta Mayor Andrew Dickens a few weeks ago to provide support for seniors on fixed incomes who are at risk of losing their homes due to increasing real estate taxes, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The donation will cover the back property taxes for 300 low-income seniors in Atlanta, including city, county, and school taxes. Perry has also committed to covering any future increase in taxes over the next 20 years for 100 low-income seniors.

Perry, who is ranked third among the world's highest-paid entertainers by Forbes, has a history of philanthropy. This generous donation is part of his ongoing efforts to give back to his community and support those in need.

Miriam Payne, a 23-year-old woman from England, set a world record by completing the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, a solo rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean, in 59 days, 16 hours, and 36 minutes. The challenge required her to row alone without any assistance and carry all necessary food and water on board. The race was tough, but Payne felt it was important to participate and raise money for women's and mental health charities.

👧 Girl with fatal condition is cured with gene therapy

Teddi, a little girl in the UK, who was born with a rare and deadly genetic condition called metachromatic leukodystrophy, has been cured through a new gene therapy. The therapy, called Libmeldy, is the world's most expensive drug. It helped replace faulty genes in her stem cells, correcting the genetic cause of the condition. Now Teddi is disease-free and living a normal, healthy life.

🍕 Family raises over $262K for Domino’s delivery driver who fell on the job

A family in South Carolina created a GoFundMe to give a generous tip to a 72-year-old Domino's pizza delivery driver, Barbara Gillespie, who fell while delivering pizza to their home. The fundraiser went viral on social media and raised over $262,000. Gillespie, who was about to retire, put in her two-week notice and officially retired after the incident.
